Big Bad Beginnings: Starting your Stories and Other Writing Struggles

Big Bad Beginnings: Starting your Stories and Other Writing Struggles

All children, except one, grow up.

Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four Privet Drive, were proud to say that there were perfectly normal, thank you very much.

Johnny never knew for certain why he started seeing the dead.

When writing a story, start at the beginning. If only it were so easy! Coming up with the right place to start your story and a killer first line is much harder than it looks. In this workshop we'll discuss what makes a good beginning, why they're so important, and how to grab your readers' attention from the very start.
